The City of Wagga Wagga is seeking a motivated and inspiring leader to join our management team in the position of Manager City Strategy. We are looking for someone to lead our City Strategy team to create an attractive, liveable and competitive City promoting sustainable growth, investment and employment.
Your new role:
This role has a unique opportunity to lead our partnership with the NSW Government to develop the Wagga Special Activation Precinct, one of only 5 in NSW, which will create and deliver 4,000 jobs supported by major infrastructure investment and rollout by the NSW Government.
This multi-faceted role is responsible for developing and implementing key strategies relating to land use, economic development, recreation and community infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to improve and enhance liveability and attract investment across the city and region. Your consultation and communication skills will be utilised to engage the community to ensure we provide for and sustain our community in the long term.
You will support economic growth of the city through key partnerships with business and industry, attracting investment opportunities and providing advice to assist with the relocation and expansion of commerce in Wagga Wagga.
What you will need to succeed:
To be successful in this role, you will have qualifications and significant experience in either urban landuse planning and strategy, economic development or recreation strategy and implementation. You will also possess organisational leadership experience and management skills, together with strong communication and negotiation skills.
